San Diego, CA (August 31, 2025) – Officers with the San Diego Police Department have confirmed that a body found near the 100 block of Sea World Drive is connected to an earlier hit-and-run collision that happened in the same area.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle collision in that area at around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 30. While conducting their initial investigation, they found that one of the motorists, who was driving a 2013 Honda, took off after rear-ending another vehicle, which was pushed forward, and hours later, it was determined that the driver had hit a pedestrian on the side of the road, according to Sgt. Clint Leisz.
That Honda was later found, but the driver has not been located. Later in the day, at around 1:00 p.m., the San Diego Police Department responded to a call in the same area regarding reports of a person found near the scene of the earlier crash. That is when they found the body of the victim, who was hit and has been identified as a 61-year-old woman, according to SDPD. However, no further details were released, and an investigation remains ongoing.
