San Diego, CA (August 26, 2025) – Two people, including at least one child, were seriously injured on August 25 after an electric bike was struck by a car in San Marcos, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDSO).
The crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on South Santa Fe Avenue near North Las Flores Drive. Deputies said both riders were on the same e-bike at the time of the collision and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One victim was airlifted to the hospital, while the other was transported by ground ambulance.
The SDSO stated that all drivers involved remained at the scene. Investigators added that alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, however. We hope the injured parties recover swiftly.
