Moreno Valley, CA (June 29, 2026) – At least one person died Sunday night, June 28, after a Tesla struck a guardrail and went over the side of the westbound Moreno Valley Freeway near Heacock Street.
The crash was reported around 9:42 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Witnesses said the driver and three passengers were trapped inside the vehicle and that it had been driven recklessly before the crash occurred.
Three people were taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
