Los Angeles, CA – Nine Hospitalized in Accident Near Wilmington

Los Angeles, CA (February 15, 2024) – Nine people were injured, two of them seriously, when the gasoline tank of a vehicle burst early on Thursday in a neighborhood near Wilmington, south of downtown Los Angeles, following an apparent crash.

One of the patients had to be intubated and evacuated to a burn unit at Los Angeles General Medical Center after all nine were transferred to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and stabilized. According to Deane, of the other wounded parties, three had minor injuries, and four had significant injuries. Several of the injured victims were responding firefighters, officials added. The investigation is still ongoing, however, and no further details regarding the cause of the accident have been released.
