Key Documentation Victims Need to Preserve After a Fatal Accident in California

After a fatal accident in California, families should gather and preserve key documents right away. Important records include the police crash report, medical examiner findings, hospital records, and any photographs or videos from the scene. Insurance policies, vehicle repair estimates, and communication with insurers should also stay organized.

Clear documentation helps families understand their legal options and supports any wrongful death claim under California law. A Los Angeles wrongful death attorney can review these materials and explain what types of compensation may be available.
