Corona, CA (October 21, 2023) – On Saturday, police said that a 40-year-old pedestrian had been killed in a hit-and-run incident in Corona.
According to the Corona Police Department, a male was discovered lying in the roadway at 10:10 p.m. in the 200 block of East Parkridge Avenue with serious injuries and surrounded by car wreckage. The Corona PD said that after the crash, officers found a car in the 300 block of North McKinley Street that matched the description of the one involved in the accident.
Authorities identified the motorist as a 53-year-old Riverside man, who was first detained on suspicion of DUI but subsequently released. The circumstances surrounding the man’s potential involvement in the accident were still being investigated as of this weekend.
