Can Injured Police Officers Receive Workers’ Compensation Benefits in California?

Police officers injured on the job in California may be eligible for workers’ compensation benefits. These can cover medical treatment, temporary disability pay, and permanent disability awards. Officers hurt in duty-related crashes often qualify regardless of fault.

California law also provides supplemental benefits specific to law enforcement. These include full salary continuation during recovery and enhanced disability payments for certain on-duty injuries. Some officers may qualify for additional allowances that standard workers’ compensation does not cover.
