Los Angeles, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Crash at San Pedro St & 83rd St

Los Angeles, CA (January 6, 2026) – A pedestrian lost his life on Sunday, January 4, after a vehicle struck him while he walked through a marked crosswalk in the Florence area of Los Angeles. The crash occurred around 5:49 p.m. at the intersection of San Pedro Street and 83rd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound on San Pedro Street when it struck a 65-year-old man who was crossing westbound within the crosswalk. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the location and cooperated with officers. Authorities did not report any arrests or citations at this time. 

Police have not released details about what led up to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
