San Diego, CA (August 27, 2025) – A teenage girl was hospitalized with a concussion and severe road rash after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend near Torrey Pines High School, according to officials’ reports released on Monday.
The collision happened in a parking lot across from the school following a football game. Local surveillance footage captured the moments leading up to the crash, showing a group of girls, around 16 years old, walking toward a nearby shopping center. While most of the girls managed to get out of the way, the driver struck one of them.
Witnesses said the victim hit the car’s hood and windshield before rolling off to the ground. Witnesses confirm that the driver never stopped, continuing through the lot without checking on the victim. The injured girl was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The San Diego Police Department stated that the incident remains under investigation. As of Monday evening, no arrest had been announced. Additional updates may be released once authorities gather more details.
