San Diego, CA (August 5, 2025) – The driver of an MTS bus died after a crash on Tuesday morning, August 5, on State Route 163.
The California Highway Patrol says it happened in the northbound lanes, north of University Avenue, around 9:00 a.m. The incident temporarily blocked the University Avenue on-ramp to State Route 163 northbound. The Highway Patrol says the driver was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
However, no further details were released in the meantime, and it’s unclear if anybody else was hurt. The investigation into the cause of the incident is still ongoing. Witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
